Glass objects were used to furnish and decorate rooms as well as objects. The aesthetic properties of the material in combination with light were particularly important. Glass beads, glass pebbles or slivers in diverse colours sparkle, shimmer and glitter. They reflect the daylight falling on them, the light from fireplace or candles and thus develop a special atmosphere or reveal an additional optical attraction on walls or clothes.
