Glass vessels, glazed cupboards or vitrines were used to store diverse items, collectables, food or liquids for short-term conservation or consumption as well as for the medium and long term. The biological decay was thus slowed down, while fragile or precious objects were protected from carelessness and environmental influences. At the same time, they could be arranged or presented in and within their vessels and vitrines. Only glass provides protection and visibility at the same time.
